FIELD NOTES
Our harvest in 2023 was decimated by Spring floods. The floods submerged various parts of the vineyard under 2m of water from days to weeks, and 95% of the harvest was lost. We couldn't risk any of the red grapes that survived getting fully ripe due to persistent damp weather and the resulting mildew pressure. So we picked this tiny Syrah harvest early, direct pressed it into a stainless steel tank to capture its purity, left it to wild ferment with a mix of grief from the lost harvest, and joy for this little harvest that was salvaged. Hand-bottled with laughter and love at just the right moment to capture the natural carbonation. Zero sulphur. Pure Sonny energy.
