Flutter
▤
And then suddenly
out of nowhere
altogether obvious
I started to dream
of you.
A little spark
you lit up my brain
travelled down
into my heart
and firmly,
securely,
began to build
love there.
A remarkable love
not outside me
but within me,
a tiny seedling
planted
in the lowest parts
of my cradled belly.
You grow strong
and I wait (and wait)
patiently,
to feel the flutter
of soft eyelashes
against my skin.
I do not know you yet
but I already love you.
